Blast Freezing
The acquisition of a Hybrid Blast Unit means we have been able to add blast freezing to our portfolio of services.

Pushing cold air at a high velocity across a food product, enabling the freezing process to take place as quickly as possible, the eco-friendly Hybrid Blast Unit allows orders to be processed quickly and more efficiently.

A tried and tested process, the benefits of blast freezers are many as they not only speed up the freezing process minimising the formation of ice crystals within food, as well as slowing down enzyme production preserving flavour and crucially extending product life.

With a capacity for up to 30 pallets, and measuring a temperature of -35, it kills harmful bacteria in foods such as meat, poultry, fish and fruit. This in turn is of tremendous benefit to our customers, reducing waste and ensuring their products remain of premium quality.

Equipped with a temperature alarm, secure door locks and preventative damage features, the technology enables producers to blast freeze, chill and temper in one unit enabling us to drive even greater efficiencies throughout our temperature-controlled operation.

An added advantage is that by offering up to 53 per cent reduction in GWP compared to other refrigerants, it also provides a low emission, and low-operational cost option for both rapidly freezing and tempering products.
